Certainly with these times of Covid I was really looking forward to this wedding beginning at Sale Town Hall.Above all their reception was to be held at a stunning venu in the heart of Manchester. This was the first time I had visited The Ivy in Spinningfields, Manchester. Having heard so much about this swanky restaurant and bar in Spinningfields, Manchester, I was really looking forward to photographing Barbara and Ian’s wedding. They had chosen this venue as they’d previously been for meals there and loved the place. Being a Summer wedding, we were lucky with the Manchester weather as it was a beautiful day. Firstly I met them outside the Town Hall where I had some time for photos before the service.
My day started at Sale Town Hall and as due to Covid their guest numbers were restricted, Barbara and Ian decided if they couldn’t have all their families and friends there, they would just invite Barbara’s brother and his wife so it was a small wedding with four people. After a lovely intimate wedding ceremony full of emotion, we set off outside to take the wedding photographs.
Getting some lovely car shots in their VW car with the roof down, we then set off to the Ivy. Once parked we found some lovely locations before arriving at the Ivy. They had booked the roof garden. With its retractable glass roof Barbara and Ian could dine under the sun and stars making it a really magical, special wedding. The roof garden was full of gorgeous decadent décor together with vibrant colours and lots of character.
It was fabulous to be part of Barbara and Ian’s day, they were a lovely to work with.
Congratulations to you both !
