Shrigley Hall Hotel
This was the second time this month I was fortunate enough to photograph at Shrigley Hall Hotel, which overlooks the Cheshire Plains. Its always a pleasure to photograph at Shrigley Hall as there are so many beautiful spots to take photographs. I began the day in the bridal suite photographing Hannah together with her bridesmaids and her daughter who was a stunning little flowergirl all getting ready. Whilst the hair and make up artists did their magic, the girls were all smiling and having a very relaxed time . There were lots of great photo opportunities capturing all their expressions and interactions.
After the Bridal Preparations
It wasn’t long before I went to meet Robert with his groomsmen all looking very dapper. We made use of the outside surroundings of the Hotel as I captured a variety of shots ranging from moody black and whites to fun colour action shots. It was the only time in the day when it wasn’t raining!
Following on from this, I went back to the bridal suite to capture Hannah with her bridesmaids coming down the grand staircase to get married. Hannah looked stunning in her dress and as she walked down the aisle with her daughter in her arms. Soon Robert was able to see his bride for the first time wearing her incredible dress which looked amazing as it finished near her ankles and so showing off her lovely shoes. The ceremony room was set up beautifully and their service was so relaxed and intimate. Creative photographs could be taken through the mirrors at the front of the room where I could capture the reflections of Hannah and Robert looking so smitten with each other.
Reception at Shrigley Hall Hotel
As we hoped the clouds and rain would blow over, everyone soon realised we were in for a very rainy day as the downpour only ever stopped for a few minutes if that ! Fortunately, we were in the main building for the reception so could make use of the grand staircase for some group photos together with some more creative shots of Hannah and Robert on the staircase. As the drinks flowed and everyone enjoyed the ambiance of the day, the weather didn’t deter anybody from having a lovely time. After a while, I managed to take some more creative photographs outside, just under the front sheltered area of Shrigley Hall Hotel.
Relaxed Documentary Photography at Shrigley Hall
It wasn’t long before everyone headed into the beautifully decorated room for their reception at which point I could concentrate on a more documentary style of photography just capturing things as they happened. Fun photos were taken of Roberts sister blowing great bubbles together with capturing great expressions throughout the speeches. Soon after the reception meal, I managed to take just a few shots of the happy couple outside just as the rain subsided for a few minutes and literally it was just a few minutes ! Following on from this, the DJ’s had the music and dance floor ready and it was soon to be Hannah and Roberts emotional first dance. Guests joined in and it wasn’t long before the dance floor was packed.
A huge congratuations Hannah and Robert, it was a pleasure photographing your wedding!
