The Monastery Manchester

I was delighted to be booked to cover Ruby and Arun’s to be The Monastery Manchester wedding photographer. Surprisingly, the monastery is known as ‘Manchester’s Taj Mahal’. This grade 11 listed building is so spectacular with its beauty and visually stunning geometry.

Firstly, Ruby and her bridal party had their hair and make up done at ‘Essence’ hairdressers in Stockport, then suddenly, a  bottle of bubbly was cracked open. Everyone was full of beaming smiles and laughter. As the make- up artists did their magic, the ambiance was  relaxed and full of laughs.

Shortly after I went to photograph the groomsmen of whom all looked very dapper. Moments later, Ruby arrived with her bridesmaids in a gorgeous vintage Campervan.

Notably, it was typical Manchester weather so there was a quick dash to the entrance before making their way to the aisle. Certainly, Ruby looked stunning and radiant in her dress. Eventually, she walked down the aisle with both her parents causing heads to turn to see  Ruby looking incredible.

After an intimate ceremony everybody headed in the main area for a drinks reception. This gave us lots of opportunities to get some lovely portraits of Ruby and Arun followed by some group shots.

Eventually when the reception meal finished, there were some excellent speeches full of funny anecdotes.

Shortly after, evening celebrations started with the cutting of the cake followed  by a romantic first dance. This was accompanied by the DJ who made a brilliant job of getting everyone up dancing. Before long the dancefloor was filling up. Definately the party was well under way so my assistant Natasha and I took our cue to leave.

A gorgeous wedding at a stunning venue for this lovely couple. Congratulations Ruby and Arran.
