Before The Service

Lisa and John  couldn’t have wished for a better day to get married as not only was it a gorgeous sunny day, but it was also the 4th May and being Star wars fans, this is the legendry Star Wars day….’May the force be with you! Lisa’s morning began at the hairdressers in Farnworth where her bridesmaids were having their hair done. It was lovely to capture their daughter Leia who played on the floor not with the conventional dolls but with her favourite pet dinosaurs which looked alot more exciting than sterotypical dolls! Once back at the house there was  the buzz of preparation  with Lisa’s other daughter Chelsea and new newly born baby Lilah, as they all got ready and did their make up. This can  be quite a hectic part of the day but everybody was beaming with smiles.

The Service at St. John’s Church, Farnworth

Arriving at the church, I was met by John and his bestman and usher: Simon and Lisa’s son Cieran who looked very dapper in their suits.  I quickly managed to get some fun photos of them all together with some of the guests before the bridal car arrived. The bridesmaids looked amazing as they all walked towards the church arm in arm and then it wasn’t long before Lisa arrived with the page boy. Lisa looked incredible coming down the aisle and John’s face was a picture when he saw his bride for the first time. Furthermore, the love and emotion was obvious throughout with lots of tears and laughter once the rings had been exchanged. After an emotional and intimate service, the newly wed couple walked back down the aisle. After some informal capturing photos followed by some group photos, Lisa and John then could relax with a glass of bubbly in their wedding car.

Queen’s Park, Bolton

Next, we had the opportunity for some lovely photographs at a near by park which presented lots of places for creative photography. We just managed to get away before a few showers which had fortunately cleared up by the time we arrived at the University of Bolton Stadium.

University Of Bolton Stadium

On arriving at the stadium we were given the opportunity to take photos on the pitch. I just had time to put my wireless flashes on and captured some wide angle shots of them both followed by a great shot of all their guests sat in the stadium seats. Despite the fact that the stadium had only gone into liquidation the day before, it did not affect Lisa and John’s amazing day. It wasn’t long before everyone was ushered in for the wedding breakfast. The caterers had done a fantastic job as the food was amazing. The couple had kindly allocated me a meal, thank you! Speeches were after the meal and were full of funny tales and laughter.

The Evening

It wasn’t long after when the evening guests started to arrive and Lisa and John did their first dance together. Brightly coloured paper confetti sprayed down from the ceiling making the dancing photos really dynamic with my lights back lighting the couple. Guests could also have their photos taken in an amazing photobooth that John had set up which had a funky Star Wars backdrop. John himself is a photographer so you can understand how honoured I felt to be booked by them!

The day was a huge success with a clear display of love and happiness in the air throughout. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to capture this wedding and I wish all the best to Lisa and John.
