Wedding Blessing

During the lovely festive time after Christmas,, Caroline and Alistair had their wedding blessing at St. Wilfred’s Church followed by their reception at Victory Hall, Mobberley. Having done the official part in Dubai, I had a skype meeting with them abroad and was delighted when they booked me  to capture their wedding blessing in Mobberley, Cheshire

St. Wilfred’s Church, Mobberley

The first time I met Caroline was when she arrived at the church looking  radiant and full  of smiles. Her dad helped her out the car and the bridesmaids were also on hand to check all was in order. As Caroline and Alistair were having a wedding blessing, they walked down the aisle together.  Being during that magical time between Christmas and New Year, the service was both very festive yet with also intimate. It was really a  special service and in some ways similar to a carol service as Christmas songs such as ‘Little town in Bethlehem’ were sung together with one of the bridesmaids doing a solo to the accompaniment of musicians who were also guests. The service was also not without laughs as the priest nearly accidentally missed out part of the service and Alistair got his timings wrong with the vows! Well, it was after all that lull period between Christmas and New Year so all can be forgiven!

After The service

Although the light was fading we managed to get to the side of the church to do a few family shots and then made use of the beautiful dramatic evening sky with a few portraits of Caroline and Alistair before heading off to Victory Hall, Mobberley for the reception. En route we stopped off at the local phone box and got some funky telephone box shots. Noel, my assistant held up the lights getting that dramatic look to the photos.

Although Victory Hall wasn’t an official wedding venu, the families had decorated it in such away that it looked as good as any wedding venue and together with the Halls oak beamed ceiling, it really was a lovely place to have a reception. As the guests were enjoying drinks in the warmth of the hall, myself and the bridal party went outside onto the bowling green for more creative photographs where we could make the most of the the amazing sky as dusk fell.A huge Congratuations Caroline and Alistair, thank you for choosing me to photograph your special day, we really enjoyed covering it.
