Adlington Hall and Hunting Lodge, Cheshire

Before The Ceremony

What an amazing day this was! Rebecca and Jonny’s wedding at Adlington Hall was such a pleasure to photograph. Rebecca had her bridal preparations at the Hunting Lodge together with the bridesmaids and excited flower girls who were all  busy getting ready. There was such a happy atmosphere with lots of laughter and prosecco being popped  with Rebecca being the most relaxed bride  and looking stunning. During this time I also took photos of Jonny with his bestman and ushers using the old backdrop of the Hall together with the pillars at the front to create a dynamic backdrop for their photos.

The Hall

Adlington Hall and the Hunting Lodge are both set in a small village in Macclesfield, Cheshire. It was primary used by the saxons and therefore featuring plenty of medieval craftsmanship that is stunning to say the least. The Hall itself was built around two big oak trees which are 700 years old, full of amazing carvings and still are seen inside the actual Hall. Together with the most famed historic organ in the country, it makes this venu  an incredible space to have a ceremony. The 17th century organ is also linked to the famous composer Handel who composed a song called ‘Hunting’ in relation to the Hunting Lodge!  From the moulded roof arches to the richly decorated murals, what better backdrop for a ceremony to dazzel guests.

The Service and Drinks

It was an intimate service with a few giggles inbetween as Rebecca struggled to place Jonny’s ring on. The light filtered into the hall from the side creating a magical scene.  Even their 2 year old daughter Elsie was spellbound by the whole experience as she looked so cute whilst holding wand her wand and watching her parents say their vows. Soon it was time for the drinks reception followed by group photographs in the historical walled courtyard. Shortly after, the bridal party and I made use of the splendid manicured gardens. Its lovely to photograph this part of the day as the pressure of getting married is off and everyone starts to relax.

Reception at The Hunting Lodge

Once the wedding breakfast was ready to be served, everyone was ushered up to the Hunting Lodge with its high beams and red brick walls. I left just before the wedding breakfast was served yet still managing to go round the tables to capture the guests enjoying themselves. The whole vibe of the day was one of happiness and celebration together with beautiful weather as the sun didn’t stop shining which was nothing less than this bride and groom deserved. The staff were also friendly and would go out of their way to ensure that everything is in order with their consistent level in help and support from when you get in touch with them before the wedding.

Congratulations Rebecca and Jonny! It was a pleasure  to photograph your wedding.
