Statham Lodge, Lymm
Located on the edge of the historic village of Lymm is Statham Lodge where Francesca and Andrew had their reception. Statham Lodge is a classic Georgian manor house set in 11 acres of beautifully maintained private grounds. Their service was held at St. Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall which is where I met Francesca. Fortunately the constant rain went unnoticed as Francesca arrived at the church looking radiant and full of smiles. Being helped out the car with brollies to hand ensured her absolutely gorgeous dress didn’t get ruined. Francesca had previously lived in Australia and consequently did formalities slightly differently. This was noticable when going down the aisle. Firstly, down the aisle came mother of the bride Pip looking amazing, followed by the groom Andrew with his parents and then the bridesmaids each with a groomsman and lastly Francesca with her aunt and uncle.
The lady vicar performed a beautiful service with lots of hymns which were accompanied by a professional singer. As the light shone through the stained glass windows, it made the service all the more special. In addition to this was the absolute look of commitment the between Francesca and Andrew.
After The service
Due to the rain, after Francesca and Andrew walked down the aisle, they were led back to the front of the church where I photographed the group pictures. Gorgeous stained glass windows made a beautiful backdrop to the photographs and having the opportunity to use the steps at the front of the church, this made the groups as good as being photographed outside….In fact, better as we didn’t have the rain on us ! On leaving the church, I managed to get some creative shots of Francesca and Andrew under the Church entrance before they were faced with the wind and rain. Brollies were soon at hand as Francesca and Andrew made their way down the path to the waiting car.
Arriving at Statham Lodge Lymm
On arriving at Statham Lodge I took the opportunity to photograph the guests as Francesca and Andrew had some time to themselves. It really was a lovely place to have a reception and with their warm log fire, it was the perfect setting for such a cold wet day. The winds were blowing a gale so I knew that no amount of persuasion was going to involve photographs outside. Nevertheless there was still plenty of opportunity for creative photographs as I set up studio lights in their main room with large bay windows. Through the windows, the wonderful gardens of Statham Lodge could be seen, so despite the fact we were not outside, they still appeared in the photos ! Whilst guests were enjoying drinks in the warmth of the hall, myself and the bridal party had some lovely photographs taken in this room.
A huge Congratulations Francesca and Andrew, thank you for choosing me to photograph your special day, I really enjoyed covering it.
